Thailand’s ROC to run cracker above 90% after restart

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thailand’s Rayong Olefins (ROC) plans to operate its 800,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker at Rayong province at above 90% of capacity after restarting it on 16 November following a shutdown, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The cracker – the country’s largest – was taken off line on 5 November for repairs after compressor issues forced the producer to reduce the operating rate at the facility to around 90% in mid-October.

ROC is a joint venture between Siam Cement and US chemical giant Dow Chemicals.
