TORONTO (ICIS news)--Air Liquide will build a new liquid oxygen and nitrogen unit in Alaska to double its capacity there, the French international industrial gases major said on Tuesday.

The new unit in Anchorage will serve the US state’s petrochemicals, refining, mining and healthcare markets after starting up in autumn 2010, the company said.

Capacity or financial details were not disclosed.

The Alaska project follows similar expansions in California, Texas, Utah and Kentucky over the past two years, the company said.
