HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Pacific Ethanol plans to restart its Burley plant in Idaho in January 2010, citing improved market conditions for producing the biofuel, the bankrupt producer said on Wednesday.

The company shut down the facility in February, three months before its subsidiaries filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11.

The restart of the 90m gal/year (341m litres/year) plant is subject to approval by the bankruptcy court, Pacific Ethanol said. A hearing is scheduled for 14 December.

Pacific Ethanol’s subsidiaries, which control its four bio-refineries, have combined capacity of 220m gal/year.
