NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Monday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Jan WTI $76.67/bbl up 62 cents/bbl BRENT Jan $77.60/bbl up 42 cents/bbl

Crude futures strengthened on Monday morning in Asia, buoyed by a weaker US dollar. Meanwhile, attention was focussed the debt crisis in Dubai.

NAPHTHA: First half January open spec naphtha was notionally assessed at $721.50-724.50/tonne CFR Japan, up around $25-26/tonne following a recovery in crude values. The second half January open spec naphtha contract was valued at $714.50 – 717.50/tonne CFR Japan. The first half February contract valued at $708.50 - 711.50/tonne CFR Japan. Assessments on Friday were notional due to market closure for a public holiday in Singapore

BENZENE: Buy-sell indications for any-February cargoes were heard at $850-890/tonne FOB Korea, big-berth condition. Discussions for January parcels were limited.

TOLUENE: The Asian toluene market was quiet with buy-sell ideas heard at $825-855/tonne FOB Korea for February loading.
