LONDON (ICIS news)--Uhde is to provide licensing, engineering and supply services for Ruwais Fertilizer Industries' (Fertil) new turnkey ammonia and urea plant in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, the Germany-based engineering company said on Tuesday.
South Korean company Samsung Engineering, which is responsible for the construction of the new $1.2bn (€800m) plant, made the award to Uhde, the company said in a statement.
“The scope of the Uhde contract covers the process license, substantial parts of the design, engineering, the supply of special equipment, and support during the construction and commissioning of the plant,” Uhde said.
“The contract is worth a three-figure million euro sum for Uhde,” the company added.
The new fertilizer complex, which will have a production capacity of 2,000 tonnes/day of ammonia and 3,500 tonnes/day of urea, is scheduled for completion in 2013, according to Uhde.
