MOVES: Bayer’s Greg Babe to lead ACC’s ‘Responsible Care’

TORONTO (ICIS news)--Greg Babe, the chief executive of Bayer’s US operations, has been appointed executive chair of the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Responsible Care board committee, Bayer said on Thursday.

Babe succeeds OxyChem chief executive Chuck Anderson in that role from 1 January, for a three-year term.

The ACC established its Responsible Care programme in 1988 to focus on the areas of health, environment, safety and security.

Since the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacksUS chemical producers have invested nearly $8.0bn (€5.3bn) in security measures under the industry's Responsible Care security code, according to the ACC.
