Mexico’s Indelpro increases PP prices by 4 cents/lb

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Indelpro, the sole producer of polypropylene (PP) in Mexico, increased December prices by 4 cents/lb ($88/tonne, €58/tonne) for all grades, a company source said on Friday.

The increase was intended to make up for recent increases in the price of feedstock propylene in benchmark US markets.

Prior to this increase, Mexico’s PP prices for homopolymers were in the range of 66.5-69.0 cents/lb FOT (free on truck), according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.

December nominations for PP contract prices in the US Gulf have an even steeper increase of 6-7 cents/lb, sources said.
