HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Heavy fog stopped vessel traffic on the Houston Ship Channel early Monday, but some inbound traffic had resumed by late morning, a US Coast Guard (USCG) spokesman said.

Pilots stopped boarding vessels at 1:20 hours Houston time (7:20 GMT) on the key oil and petrochemical corridor, but by mid-morning Houston pilots had begun boarding inbound vessels, said USCG chief Lance Bradley.

Pilots will begin boarding both inbound and outbound vessels to and from the Port of Texas City at 11:00 hours local time on Monday, Bradley said.
