EU industrial, chemical output continues to fall in October

LONDON (ICIS news)--Industrial output in the EU decreased by 10.2% in October year on year, while production of chemicals and man-made fibres dropped by 5.4%, official statistics agency Eurostat said on Monday.

In the 16-member eurozone, industrial production in October dropped 11.1% compared to the same month last year, while chemicals production was 5.1% lower.

Month on month, the production of chemicals was up 0.6% in the 27-member EU, while production in the eurozone showed a rise of 0.3%.

Total industrial production fell by 0.7% in October in the EU compared with September, and by 0.6% in the eurozone.
