TORONTO (ICIS news)--Canadian regulators have approved Air Products’ hydrogen pipeline project in Alberta province, the US-based international industrial gases major said on Tuesday.

The 30-mile pipeline will supply hydrogen from Air Products' two production facilities near Edmonton to refiners, oil sands upgraders, chemical processors and other industries after completion next year, the company said.

Construction of the pipeline - which largely follows existing pipeline corridors - has already begun, the company said.

Air Products added that it expected to seal several supply contracts with customers in Alberta in coming months.

Financial terms or volumes were not disclosed.
