LONDON (ICIS news)--European nylon 6 December contract prices have rolled over from November, due to a short working month caused by the Christmas holiday period in Europe, buyers and sellers confirmed on Tuesday.
“Space to change prices in December is extremely limited, December is a special month,” one producer said.
December nylon 6 virgin polymer settled at €1.55-1.62/kg FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest ?xml:namespace>
Nevertheless, higher than forecast demand in December - particularly from textile applications - and rising upstream benzene costs led to expectations that prices would increase by up to €0.10/kg in January, buyers and sellers said.
