SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Guangxi Tiandong Petrochemical, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), plans to complete construction of a new 500,000 tonne/year cracker at Tiandong Petrochemical Industry Zone in Guangxi province by late 2010, an official source said on Tuesday.
Construction of a downstream 30,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant and an 80,000 tonne/year gas fractionation plant at the same site in south China will also be completed around the same period, the source added.
The firm began construction at the three projects, which included a total investment of yuan (CNY) 450m ($66m), in early December, the source said.
The source did not disclose details on feedstock supply for the new cracker.
