LONDON (ICIS news)--Industrial new orders in the EU fell by 14.1% year on year in October 2009, while orders for chemicals dropped 12.6%, official statistics agency Eurostat said on Wednesday.
In the 16-member eurozone, industrial new orders in October declined by 14.5% year on year, while chemicals orders were down 14.7%.
Month on month, October chemicals orders were up by just 2.76% in the 27-member EU, but were down by 0.14% in the eurozone.
Compared with September, industrial new orders in October fell by 1.6% in the EU and dropped by 2.2% in the eurozone.
