SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--An explosion at PetroChina subsidiary Lanzhou Petrochemical in northwestern China killed two people and injured 22 on Thursday, company sources said.
The incident occurred at around 17:30 hours local time in a crude oil storage area. Lanzhou Petrochemical has a 340,000 tonne/year cracker at the site, the sources said.
A huge fire was still raging following the explosion and further casualties were expected. ?xml:namespace>
