Saudi’s Sipchem sends first VAM shipment to Europe

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Saudi International Petrochemical Co (Sipchem) has sent the first shipment of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) from its new 330,000 tonne/year plant, it said on Monday.

The first “shipment to the European markets” was sent last Thursday through the King Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail industrial city, it added in a statement.

International Vinyl Acetate Company (IVC), a Sipchem affiliate produced the VAM from its plant which came on stream on 19 December 2009 with a production capacity of 330,000 tonnes/year, it said.

The plant would get its feedstock from other Sipchem affiliates, the statement added.
