HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Brazil’s government on Monday temporarily reduced the mandatory amount of ethanol mixed into gasoline to 20% from 25% effective from 1 February.
The cut will last 90 days, according to a statement by Brazil’s Energy Ministry.
Sources said in October that Brazil could reduce the amount of ethanol it blends in gasoline to help stave off a surge in the price of the biofuel and take pressure off supply.
