Huntsman forms China jv with Jurong Ningwu for polyether polyols

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Huntsman has formed a joint venture in China with Jurong Ningwu Chemical to research, develop, manufacture and sell polyether polyol products, the US producer announced on Tuesday.

The joint venture will be named Jurong New Ningwu Chemical and located in Jurong City.

“We are committed to the long-term development of our business in China and the joint venture with Ningwu is the latest step in our programme to build capability in this dynamic growth market,” said Tony Hankins, president of Huntsman's polyurethanes division.

“We’re very excited to be partnering with one of the major polyols producers in the country and look forward to combining our unique talents to achieve sustained success.”

The joint venture will be run as a stand alone operation by general manager Ying Jun.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
