HOUSTON (ICIS news)--A rat shorted the electrical wiring in a fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCC) at Citgo’s 156,000 bbl/day Corpus Christi refinery in Texas, a regulatory filing said on Tuesday.
The rat shorted out the power train on the No 2 FCC at around 21:00 hours Houston time (3:00 GMT) on 11 January, causing the unit to shut down, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
“Once wiring repairs are completed, [the] unit will be restarted,” the filing said.
Citgo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
