GUANGZHOU (ICIS news)--Sinopec subsidiary Anqing Company started construction of a yuan (CNY) 10bn ($1.46bn) refining complex in eastern China earlier this week and plans to complete it by September 2012, a company source said on Wednesday.
Key facilities to be built at the complex at Anqing in east China's Anhui province include a 5m tonne/year crude distillation unit, a 2m tonne/year heavy oil hydrogenation unit, a 2m tonne/year fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU), a 2.2m tonne/year diesel hydrogenation unit and a 1m tonne/year catalytic reformer, the source said.
Several aging and small facilities would be eliminated at the same time, the source added.
The new complex would expand the company’s refining capacity to 8m tonnes/year from the existing 5m tonnes/year, the source said.
Products from the complex would be sold mainly in eastern China, the source added.
