HOUSTON (ICIS news)--February North American methanol contracts will likely roll over from January due to stable spot prices, a seller said on Thursday.
US spot methanol prices have been in the upper 90-cents/gal ($319-329/tonne, €226-234/tonne) range since late November, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
“A roll is very likely but with the usual disclaimers for unforeseen events,” the seller said.
Producers Methanex and Southern Chemical nominated their January methanol contracts at 110 and 108 cents/gal FOB (free on board) USG (US Gulf), respectively. Those amounts are the same as the January contracts.
