LONDON (ICIS news)--Updated figures from Eurostat show that industrial new orders in the EU fell by 1.2% year on year in November 2009, while orders for chemicals rose 3.5%, the official statistics agency said on Monday.
Eurostat revised the figures it released on 22 January, after it received corrected German data on new orders. These had an impact on the European aggregates.
In the 16-member eurozone, industrial new orders in November declined by 0.5% year on year, while chemicals orders increased by 2.1%.
Month on month, November chemicals orders were up by 4.0% in the 27-member EU and by 3.5% in the eurozone.
Compared with October, industrial new orders in November rose by 2.6% in the EU and by 2.7% in the eurozone.
