HOUSTON (ICIS news)--William Mitchell has been promoted to vice president and general counsel for NOVA Chemicals, the Canadian petrochemicals producer announced on Thursday.

Mitchell will replace Jack Mustoe, who retired as chief legal officer and corporate secretary in December.

“Bill brings extensive experience in NOVA Chemicals’ legal department,” said NOVA chief executive Randy Woelfel.

Mitchell previously worked as vice president in NOVA’s legal department, and currently serves as a board member at Launchcyte.

NOVA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC). NOVA is headquartered in the US, but was founded in Canada, and the bulk of its manufacturing is in Canada.
