LONDON (ICIS news)--INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe CEO Tom Crotty has been named president of the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA), effective 1 February, the association said on Friday.

Crotty will replace BASF’s Albert Heuser, who is moving to Hong Kong, the EPCA said in a statement.

Heuser has been EPCA president since 1 January 2009 and was initally appointed to serve a three-year term, the EPCA said. He is to be BASF’s president of the regional market and business development, Asia-Pacific.

Olivier Greiner, vice president of marketing and sales for Total Petrochemicals, is to join EPCA's executive committee as vice president, it said.

Three senior board members Heuser, former president Boy Litjens and former vice president Theo Walthie have stepped down, the association added.

Rainer Diercks, president of BASF’s petrochemicals division; Peter Holicki, global manufacturing vice president, hydrocarbons and energy for Dow Chemical; and Huub Meessen, managing director of polymers for SABIC Europe, have been elected to the board.
