SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korea’s Kumho P&B Chemicals plans to shut its No 2 and No 3 bisphenol A (BPA) lines at Yeosu in early May for annual maintenance, a company source said on Monday.

The two lines would be down for three weeks from 7 May, in conjunction with the shutdown at their upstream phenol-acetone facility, the source said.

The No 2 line has a BPA nameplate capacity of 130,000 tonnes/year, while the No 3 line can produce 150,000 tonnes/year of BPA.

Kumo P&B's 30,000 tonne/year No 1 line at the same site was mothballed in early 2007.
