NEW YORK (ICIS news)--Dutch specialty chemical producer DSM plans to open a research and development (R&D) centre in the US that will focus on nutrition, the company said on Monday.
The company's so-called "Nutrition Innovation Center" will be in Parsippany, New Jersey, and it should open in 2011, according to DSM.
The centre will draw on expertise from two business units, DSM Nutritional Products and DSM Food Specialties, the company said. It will target the beverage, bakery, dairy, savoury, dietary supplement and personal care sectors, the company said.
DSM opened two other regional food application laboratory facilities last year. The one in Sao Paulo, Brazil, focused mainly on beverage applications. Shanghai, China, was for dairy, baking, beverage and savoury applications.
