HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US fourth-quarter propylene production was 7.57bn lb (3.43m tonnes), a 2.9% drop from 7.80bn lb one year earlier, the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) said on Friday.

Propylene production in the fourth quarter fell by 2.4% from 7.76bn lb produced in the third quarter of 2009, the NPRA said.

US propylene inventories in the fourth quarter were at 1.54bn lb. That is up by 17.6% from 1.31bn lb in the third quarter of 2009, but a 16.8% reduction from 1.85bn lb in the same period one year earlier.

NPRA's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.
