SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thailand’s PTT Chemical plans to restart two of its crackers in Mab Ta Phut in the second half of February, which are shut due to technical problems, a company official said on Wednesday.

The 515,000 tonne/year I-4 No 1 cracker would resume operations on 19 February while the 400,000 tonne/year I-4 No 2 cracker was expected to restart on 26 February, the source added.

Both facilities were taken offline on 10 February due to a power outage in the area.

PTT’s new 1 m tonne/year ethane cracker in Mab Ta Phut achieved on-spec ethylene production on 16 February as scheduled, the source said.

Separately, a planned maintenance shutdown at the 460,000 tonne/year I-1 cracker would take place from 23 February to 29 March, she added.
