SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thailand’s PTT Chemical shut its 460,000 tonne/year gas cracker in Mab Ta Phut on Tuesday for maintenance, as scheduled, a company official said on Wednesday.

The cracker was expected to be off line until 29 March, the official said.

PTT Chem's 515,000 tonne/year I-4 No 1 naphtha cracker in the same area is currently running at 60% of capacity after achieving on-spec production on Monday, she said.

The I-4 No 1 cracker was also slated for maintenance from 1 June to 5 July to iron out technical problems that had prevented the plant from running at a higher rate, added the official.
