NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Wednesday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Apr WTI $79.26/bbl, up 40 cents/bbl ; Apr BRENT $77.58/bbl, up 33 cents/bbl

Crude futures strengthened on Thursday, regaining ground lost during the previous session, after US inventory data revealed a surprise fall in US crude stocks.

NAPHTHA: First-half April open-spec naphtha eased to $723.00-726.00/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan on Wednesday, from $731.00-733.00/tonne CFR Japan a day ago as US crude futures hovered near $80/bbl. Second-half April naphtha contract was assessed at $718.50-721.50/tonne CFR Japan, while the first-half May contract was pegged at $712.00-715.00/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Prices softened to $925-940/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea on Wednesday morning. Offers for any April loading cargoes at $940/tonne FOB Korea were countered by bids of $925/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices slid to $860-875/tonne FOB Korea level with offers for April-loading cargoes cited at $875-880/tonne FOB Korea countered by bids of $860/tonne FOB Korea.
