SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan Prosperity Chemical Corp (TPCC) plans to operate its phenol-acetone plant at Kaohsiung at maximum rates next month due to tight regional supply, a company source said on Friday.
The plant, which can produce 340,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 209,000 tonnes/year of acetone, was already running at full capacity, the source added.
"Regional supply of phenol-acetone is tight but it is even tighter for phenol supplies," an industry source said.
Taiwan Prosperity planned to shut the phenol-acetone plant at the end of this year for two weeks of maintenance.
