TORONTO (ICIS news)--Dow Chemical has signed a polyurethane systems alliance with a Saudi Arabian firm to better serve Middle Eastern markets, it said on Wednesday.

The alliance - between Dow unit Dow Formulated Systems and E.A. Juffali & Brothers - also expected to start building this year a polyol blends plant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Dow said.

The planned facility would produce Dow-formulated polyols, and the respective Dow polyurethane systems would be marketed in the region, it said.

Financial terms or capacities were not disclosed.

Dow Formulated Systems combines Dow’s polyurethane systems and epoxy systems businesses.
