Europe March acetone MMA settles up €28/tonne at €765.20/tonne

LONDON (ICIS news)--The European March acetone methyl methacrylate (MMA) contract settlement has been agreed at an increase of €28/tonne ($38/tonne) from February, based on higher propylene costs, a major producer and two major buyers confirmed on Friday.

Following the initial settlement price of €765.20/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe) between a major producer and one of its customers, a second major acetone consumer confirmed that it, too, had settled at a €28/tonne increase from February.

 “I can confirm the €28/tonne increase,” said the consumer.

Although availability of acetone was tight in Europe because of propylene constraints, major buyers said that they could secure their required volumes.
