TORONTO (ICIS news)--Monsanto has completed a $200m (€148m) expansion at its glyphosate herbicide plant at Luling near New Orleans, Louisiana, the US agrochemicals major said on Friday.
The expansion would boost production capacity of Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide by 20%, said Kerry Preete, president of Monsanto’s crop protection division.
The company did not disclose capacity data in terms of tonnes or pounds per year.

Monsanto’s Luling expansion, first announced in 2008, took nearly two years to complete. It absorbed 1.2m man hours of construction labour, the company said.
