TORONTO (ICIS news)--Shell plans to nominate former DuPont CEO Charles Holliday to join its board as non-executive director, the company said on Thursday.

If approved by shareholders, Holliday would join Shell effective 1 September, it said.

Holliday was DuPont's CEO and board chairman from 1999 to 2009. He retired as CEO in January 2009 and as board chairman in December 2009, and he was succeeded in both roles by Ellen Kullman.

Shell's 2010 annual meeting is scheduled for 18 May in The Hague, Netherlands.
