Foster wins deal to expand Sasol’s hard wax output in S Africa

TORONTO (ICIS news)--Foster Wheeler has won a contract to expand Sasol’s wax production capacity at Sasolburg in South Africa, the international petrochemicals engineering major said on Tuesday.

After completion in 2012, the project would double Sasol’s hard wax production at Sasolburg, Foster said without disclosing additional capacities or financial details.

The contract included engineering, procurement and construction management, Foster said. The company was also in charge of the project’s front-end engineering design work, which it completed in the fourth quarter of 2009, it added.

According to earlier reports, Sasol plans to invest rand (R) 8.4bn ($1.1bn) in the expansion.
