SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China’s Yanzhou Coal Mining Company Ltd, a subsidiary of Yankuang Group, started construction of a 1.8m tonne/year coal-to-methanol project in Ordos, Inner Mongolia on 17 March, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.
The project is the first venture of the company in the northern ?xml:namespace> The first phase of the project, a 600,000 tonne/year methanol plant, would be operational by 2012, the source said.
