TORONTO (ICIS news)--Cognis plans to sell its ultraviolet (UV) acrylates business to IGM Resins, the Germany-based international specialty chemicals producers said on Thursday.

The UV acrylates business produces monomers and oligomers for UV applications marketed under the Photomer brand name, Cognis said.

Cognis and IGM Resins had signed an agreement on the sale, which included a US plant in Charlotte, North Carolina, the group added.

Cognis did not disclose any financial terms; however it said that the deal was expected to close in June.

Netherlands-based IGM Resins is described as a specialty chemicals firm focussed on UV radiation curing markets. It has plants in Europe, the US, South America and China.
