LONDON (ICIS news)--Air Products is to build a new hydrogen production facility in West Port, Selangor, Malaysia to support increasing product demand in the region, the US industrial gases major said on Tuesday.
The group said the steam methane reformer (SMR), with a projected hydrogen production capacity of more than 1.5m standard cubic feet per day, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2011.

The hydrogen produced by the SMR would be used by a variety of industries, including oleochemical manufacturers which produce fatty alcohols, fatty acid and methyl esters, the company added.
