LONDON (ICIS news)--Univar has launched a series of initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental impact and carbon footprint, the global chemical distributor said on Tuesday.

Univar said that the programme, which it has called U+stainability, will also ensure the safety and health of its employees and neighbours, provide its supplier and customer businesses with sustainable solutions, and allow for the safe stewardship of products.

Sonia Pires, Univar’s director of safety, health, environment and sustainability for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said: “U+stainability is the next step as sustainability is one of the industry’s most important issues and a key differentiator for the chemical distribution business.”
