SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Friday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: May WTI $84.83/bbl, down 68 cents/bbl ; June BRENT $87.30/bbl, down 29 cents/bbl

NYMEX crude futures were down 68 cents on Friday amid thin trade in Asia due to profit-taking activity ahead of prompt month May contract expiry.

NAPHTHA: First-half June open-spec naphtha rose to $769.00-772.00/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan on Friday morning, up $3.50-4.50/tonne on the previous day. Second-half June was valued at $765.00-768.00/tonne CFR Japan, while first half July was pegged at $762.00-765.00/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Prices were notionally pegged stable at $995-1,005/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea amid subdued trading on Friday morning. Offers for June loading cargoes at $1,008-1,015/tonne FOB Korea met bids at $990/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices were notionally pegged at $905-915/tonne FOB Korea amid a lack of discussions for May-loading cargoes. Buy-sell indications for June-loading cargoes were heard at $920-925/tonne FOB Korea
