EVENING SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Monday’s end of day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: May WTI $81.34/bbl, down $1.90/bbl; June BRENT $84.13/bbl, down $1.86/bbl/bbl
NYMEX crude futures fell $1.90/bbl to $81.34/bbl on Monday as risk appetite faded over news of fraud charges against Goldman Sach and disruption in flights in Europe curbed jet fuel use. Brent crude futures were also down $1.86/bbl.
At 8:30 GMT on Friday, the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) June Oman futures contract settled at $82.50/bbl, down $2.35/bbl on the previous close.

NAPHTHA: First-half June open spec naphtha fell to $746.00-747.00/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan on Monday, extending losses earlier in the session as U.S. crude dived towards $81/bbl. Second half June was valued at $742.00-743.00/tonne CFR Japan, while first half July was pegged at $738.50-739.50/tonne CFR Japan. Vitol sold a cargo to Itochu at $742.50/tonne for second half June delivery.

BENZENE: Prices slipped from last Friday to $985-1,000/tonne FOB Korea with an offer for H2 May loading cited at $1,000/tonne FOB Korea. A deal was reported for June loading at $987/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices fell below $900/tonne FOB Korea with a bid for H2 May loading cited at $880/tonne FOB Korea. Offers for June shipment at $908-915/tonne FOB Korea met bids at $900/tonne FOB Korea.
