SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Siam Cement plans to start producing lamination-grade polypropylene (PP) and biaxially oriented film-grade PP at its new 400,000 tonne/year plant at Mab Ta Phut, Thailand, early next year, company sources said on Monday.

The new PP plant would be producing mainly injection and yarn-grade PP this year, said the sources, who were speaking on the sidelines of the Chinaplas exhibition, which runs from 19-22 April in Shanghai, China.

The new PP facility has been ramping up production since it came on stream earlier this year, and was currently running at close to 100% capacity, they added.

Siam Cement’s other PP plants at the same site have a combined capacity of 320,000 tonnes/year, the sources said
