EVENING SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Tuesday’s end-of-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: May WTI $82.47/bbl, up $1.02/bbl ; June BRENT $85.22/bbl, up 99 cents/bbl

Crude futures gained more than $1/bbl on Tuesday, buoyed by news that some flights have resumed in Europe as threats posed by volcanic ash cloud from Iceland eased.

At 8:30 GMT on Tuesday, the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) June Oman futures contract settled at $84.21/bbl, up 71 cents/bbl on the previous close.

NAPHTHA: First-half June open-spec naphtha rebounded to $761.50-766.50/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan on Tuesday, up $20.00-21.50/tonne from earlier in the day, in sync with crude futures. Second-half June was valued at $756.50-761.00/tonne CFR Japan, while first half July stood at $748.50-757.00/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Prices were hovering at $985-995/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea level, with a deal heard for any June lifting at $993/tonne FOB Korea. Bids for second-half May shipment were heard at $985/tonne FOB Korea, which met an offer of $992/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices remained at $895-910/tonneFOB Korea level, with a bid for second-half May loading cited at $895/tonne FOB Korea. A deal was reported for any June loading at $910/tonne FOB Korea.
