TORONTO (ICIS news)--DyStar’s production sites at Leverkusen and Brunsbuttel, Germany, have become fully operational again, following their restart after being shut down in the wake of the company's insolvency last year, the textiles and leather chemicals major said on Tuesday.

But textile chemicals production at DyStar’s former site at Gerestried, near Munich, has been transferred to other sites, the company said.

DyStar last year shut down its sites in Germany, except indigo production at Ludwigshafen, after filing for insolvency. In February, DyStar was acquired by India’s Kiri Dyes & Chemicals.

Gerestried, which was not part of Kiri’s acquisition, was sold earlier this month by DyStar’s insolvency administrators to specialty chemicals producer Pulcra Chemicals.

DyStar CEO Steve Barron said: “We are pleased with the speed of implementation of essential measures such as negotiation and signing of important contracts with our suppliers, service and financial partners.”

DyStar ranks as one of the world’s main textile chemicals producers, along with Huntsman and Clariant.
