HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Here is Tuesday’s mid-day Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.
CRUDE: May WTI: $83.42/bbl, up $1.97; Jun Brent: $85.25/bbl, up $1.02
Crude prices rose in response to a weaker dollar and reports that some European flights had resumed, potentially increasing jet fuel demand. The May WTI contract was also firmer than the forward months on short covering ahead of contract expiration.
NATURAL GAS: $3.919/MMBtu, down 2.5 cents
Natural gas futures prices dropped with mild temperatures and healthy stock levels.
RBOB: $2.2919/gal, up 3.75 cents
Reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygenate blending (RBOB) futures prices rose alongside stronger crude values.
BENZENE: US spot benzene for April and May was talked lower on FOB (free on board) terms at $3.48-3.52/gal, centred around the April contract price in a fairly balanced market. A recent pullback in energy prices was behind the drop.
ETHYLENE: US ethylene for April was offered at 72.00 cents/lb on Tuesday with no bids. Ethylene last traded at 70.50 cents/lb on Friday.
PROPYLENE: Refinery-grade propylene (RGP) was offered at 48.00 cents/lb on Tuesday with no bids. RGP traded on Friday at 45.75 cents/lb.
