Japan’s Mitsui restarts Osaka cracker after outage

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals restarted its 450,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Osaka mid-week after the facility was taken off line earlier this month due to mechanical issues, a company official said on Thursday.
“The cracker was restarted yesterday and now production will be gradually increased,” he said.
The facility was taken off line during the weekend of 10-11 April.
The Osaka cracker is also slated to undergo maintenance from 17 June to 26 July.
