SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwanese petrochemical major Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC) plans to shut its Mailiao-based 250,000 tonnes/year n-butanol (NBA) plant in the near term for safety checks by government officials, market sources said on Friday.
The facility would be shut for around two weeks one to two months from now, they said.
FPC was still waiting for official notification from the government on the exact dates of the shutdown, market sources said.
The company could not be reached for comment at the time of writing.
About 60% of the plant’s NBA output is for captive use in its downstream butyl acrylate units in Mailiao and ?xml:namespace>
