LONDON (ICIS news)--Some initial May European toluene contracts have been agreed at $903-909/tonne (€686-691/tonne), within the previous month’s range of $892-910/tonne, one buyer and two sellers said on Friday.
The contracts were agreed on a free on board (FOB) northwest Europe (NWE) basis.
One buyer said it had settled May contracts between $903-905/tonne on Friday afternoon.
A seller later confirmed it had agreed May at $903/tonne, largely on balanced market fundamentals.
“Demand seems to be healthy,” said one producer, who confirmed that it had settled contracts at $905-909/tonne.
“Customers have been nominating maximum volumes, so the market appears to be healthy.”
Confirmation from other market players was pending.
