SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--PetroChina's Dalian Shihua will halt operations at its northeast China-based paraffin wax plant by the end of the month for a 20-day turnaround, sources close to the company said on Tuesday.
The 180,000 tonne/year plant is currently running at around 50% of capacity, added the source.
Paraffin wax prices increased by $10/tonne last week to $1,620-1,650/tonne (€1,215-1,238/tonne) FOB (free on board) China Main Port (CMP) for the benchmark fully-refined grade of melting point 58/60ºC, according to global chemical market intelligence service, ICIS pricing.
Other regional paraffin wax producers include Sinopec and Taiwan Wax Co.
