India’s Reliance to restart Nagothane complex by 6 May

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--India's Reliance Industries plans to restart its cracker complex at Nagothane, in Maharashtra state, by Thursday after a planned turnaround a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The complex was shut down for maintenance on 16 April, two weeks earlier than another source had indicated in early April.

The facility includes a 400,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker, a 120,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant, a 240,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE)/linear low density PE (LLDPE) swing unit and a 110,000 tonne/year low density PE (LDPE) unit.

“The shutdown has intensified the tightness in supply of PE and PP in India,” a trader said.
